Unlike other parenting experts you might’ve talked with, my focus is on treating you with respect. I don’t believe I know the One Right Way To Parent. I don’t think you need some sort of Parenting Make-Over. I assume that you can make up your mind on your own, if you’ve just got some fresh ideas and time to think. I speak from many years of personal and professional experience, but we are both parents, you and I. We’re equals.

And I know you really care about your kids. You might do things you later regret – we all do – but you want the best for your children. You’re willing to think about what’s worked for you in the past and what hasn’t worked. You’re willing to try new ideas and rework your old ones. Because you care about your kids, you’re open to finding alternative ways to help them along.

And that’s what I’m here to do. When you read my book, scan through my newsletter, or read the blog and other articles, you get the best information research has to offer, delivered in a way that makes sense and treats you intelligently. I want you and your family to do well.

So read up. Think deeply. Do your best. I have confidence in you.

In 2011, I donated over 10% of the profits from my work for children and families to Fox Valley Education Foundation, Program For Early Parent Support, and Washington Parenting Education Network.

I’ll donate 10% in 2012 too. You can help by joining my Buy One, Send One Book Give-Away. Thanks for your support!
